VIVO IPL 2018: Chennai Champions For the Third Time.
CSK and SRH both were the table toppers after the playoffs ended and rightly so the IPL grand final happened between the two strong teams of this IPL 2018 season.CSK after coming back to the IPL almost couple of years later, Chennai fans wanted Dhoni to triumph this season for them as well as for the team. Dhoni before the tournament started got a bit emotional talking about the journey of CSK and the love support the team gets wherever they play.
The stage was set for the finals and Wankhede ( Mumbai) was chosen as the venue for the IPL 2018 finals to be played. The crowd came in good numbers and most of the spectators were seen wearing yellow jerseys in order to show the support for their team CSK. The stadium was loud as always and SRH having lost on the same ground couple of days back which ensured CSK commencing into the finals of IPL 2018. Two times Champions CSK were on the hunt for the third one and their approach right throughout the tournament seemed to be pitch perfect.CSK were the favourites to win the finals but SRH had a good bowling attack which won them multiple matches with the attack they have with the likes of Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Winning the toss MS Dhoni decided to bowl first as he said the pitch was in good condition and will favour the batsmen as well. Batting first SRH lose some early wickets in running out as Dhawan and Kane Williamson failed to impress the SRH fans. With some firepower by Yusuf Pathan and Braithwaite Sunrisers reached to a respective total of 178 runs in 20 overs.To the reply, SRH started bowling with some effective deliveries which restricted the Chennai Openers to hit the ball to the boundaries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar started the proceeding with a maiden first over in the IPL 2018 finals. Couple of overs went to the Hyderabad team as they manage to not give runs at any cost.CSK playing the IPL Final for the record 7th time, they knew how to win games especially when MSD is associated with it. Shane Watson showed his full flow on the night of finals and hit some furious shot for boundaries after the power plays were over.
Shane Watson and Suresh Raina got the scoreboard moving with some good serious hitting off Sandeep Sharma and Siddharth Kaul, who both were extremely good with the ball in IPL 2018. But Watson continued to dominate on any bowler and went on to make IPL century on the night of finals. CSK became the Champions for the Third time as the Mumbai people went gaga over the win.
